There is still anger and sinfulness. There is still hatred and liars. There is still sickness and disease. There are still groups of people that get looked down upon by another group. We still have wars and rumors of wars on the horizon.
Even with all of the change there is still a God and we ought to be thankful that He never changes. He is the same yesterday, today, and forever. He is a God of love. God loves you and I. What a great thing to meditate on. The Lord God showed us His love by sending Jesus into the world to save us sinners.
The world can be a scary place for many. There is much danger in many areas of our world today. There is even a danger for those who have their faith and trust in Jesus Christ. There are many nations where it is a death sentence to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ. There are still people in our world today who are being persecuted for their faith in Jesus Christ.
We must pray for persecuted Christians all around the world. There could be a time when it is you or I that may be persecuted for our faith in Christ Jesus. It is very important to continue to walk by faith in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We must cling to Him during times of hardship and persecution. We must stand firm on the truth of who He is.
It is important to know where our faith stands. Everyone uses the word faith these days, but it is important where that faith is placed. A person may be bold and say, "I have faith!" We would be wise to ask them, "In who? or what?"
Our faith needs to be anchored to something and not just anything will do. Whatever we anchor our faith to must be immovable. I like what the Apostle John has to say in 1 John 5:1-5 which says,
"1 Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ is born of God, and everyone who loves the father loves his child as well.
2 This is how we know that we love the children of God: by loving God and carrying out his commands.
3 In fact, this is love for God: to keep his commands. And his commands are not burdensome,
4 for everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith.
5 Who is it that overcomes the world? Only the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God."
We know that our faith is solid when we come to know Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior. Jesus is the only one who lived a perfect sinless life and He is the only one to die for our sins. Jesus is the only one to rise from the dead and by doing so He showed us that He is indeed God. Jesus conquered death.
He is our anchor. He is our solid rock on which our faith holds fast. Everyone who puts their faith in Jesus Christ has become a child of the Most High God. It is not down by anything we do or have done, but it is a work that is done by God Himself. We can not take any credit and we can not boast. We just need to come to God by placing our faith and trust in the finished work that Jesus Christ accomplished for each of us on the Cross.
If we are believers in Jesus Christ then we have overcome the world. The only the person who believes that Jesus Christ is the Son of God overcomes the world. There is only One true Living God and that is the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. He is the God that is revealed to us in the Holy Bible.
There is only One Name under Heaven which people must be saved by and that is Jesus Christ. My hope and prayer is that everyone will have the opportunity to hear and respond to the Gospel message of Jesus Christ. The world needs Jesus. We need Jesus. Without Jesus there is no hope, but with Jesus there is hope eternal.
Jesus Christ is the Son of the Living God. Jesus Christ is my Lord and Savior. He is my Rock and my Anchor. He is my Strong Tower to whom I run to.
Lord,
Thank You for the Truth of Your Word.
Thank You for the hope that is available to us through Jesus Christ.
Help us to live for You each and everyday.
Lead us and guide us by Your Holy Spirit for Your Glory.
In Jesus name we pray,
Amen.
