There is a lot of anger and despair. There is growing frustration in the air. There is displeasure of our Government leaders. There is also an anti authority movement that seems to be afoot. There is a major attitude problem in our world today and it is affecting everything so it seems.
The whole reason behind all of this unrest is that the world system has been trying to push God out of everything in society. When a culture tries to distant itself from the Lord things will get pretty nasty really fast. We can look back over human history since the beginning of Creation and see a pattern.
When people harden their hearts and fail to listen to the True Living God, that is the Lord of all Creation, then there will be no rest for those people. It all stems from unbelief.
When the Israelites were led out of Egypt by the Lord and His servant Moses it didn't take very long for the Israelites hearts to become hardened. They started complaining and moaning and groaning. They saw great things that the Lord had done, but their hearts still became hard because of unbelief.
We believers in Jesus Christ must be careful and guard our hearts against unbelief. The Lord is still in control of things even when things seem bleak and getting worse. All things are still possible with the Lord. The Lord is still working out all things for the good of those who love Him and are called according to His purposes.
The Lord hasn't forgotten us in our troubles and our trials. Times are tough and they will get tougher until the Lord Jesus returns. We need to continue to walk by faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and not allow the flesh to direct our foot steps.
We need to walk in the Holy Spirit and pay no attention to the flesh. We can not do that in our own strength or even in our own power. It needs to be done in God's power and strength by His Spirit who indwells everyone who has put their faith and trust in Jesus Christ for Salvation.
God is an Awesome God and He loves us with a deep everlasting love. He demonstrated His love toward us by sending us His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ,
We come to Jesus Christ by faith and we must to continue to walk with Him by faith as we run this course that we are on. Sometimes things happen in our lives where our faith may shrink or start to waver. We must not give up on the Lord because He has never given up on us. God can still use us for His glory and honor.
Hebrews 3:7-11 says,
7 So, as the Holy Spirit says: “Today, if you hear his voice,
8 do not harden your hearts as you did in the rebellion, during the time of testing in the wilderness,
9 where your ancestors tested and tried me, though for forty years they saw what I did.
10 That is why I was angry with that generation; I said, ‘Their hearts are always going astray, and they have not known my ways.’
11 So I declared on oath in my anger, ‘They shall never enter my rest.’ ”
In order to enter into the rest of the Lord we must come to the Lord in faith. There is only one way to be reconciled back to God and that is through Jesus Christ and trusting in His finished work on the Cross. There is only one way to the Father and that is through Jesus. Jesus said that He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life and no one comes to the Father except through Him (John 14:6).
Jesus wants all people to come to Him and be saved, but unfortunately not everyone will come to Him. Many will harden their hearts against the things of God and those who trust and believe in Him. When more and more people harden their hearts against the Lord the darker things will become.
When ever darkness grows things can become dangerous for those who shine the light of Christ in this world. We as believers in Christ must not lose heart because things are growing darker. We must continue to believe and trust our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. One day He will take us Home to be with Him if we have put our faith in Him for what He did for us on the Cross. He shed His blood for our sins and whoever calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.
Let us continue to believe in the Lord Jesus and continue to walk with Him and live for Him by loving others and each other.
We must lift our heads high and keep our eyes upon Jesus.
Lord,
Thank You for Your love and goodness.
You are Holy and Just in Your Judgments.
We believe all things are possible with You O Lord.
Help us in our unbelief.
Lead us and guide our steps.
In Jesus name we pray,
Amen.
