Drawing Near To The Lord And Each Other

There are times in life when we will feel left out or maybe even perhaps forgotten by those around us.  There are moments when the pains of loneliness flood the very depths of our hearts and souls.  We may wonder if anyone cares or if we even cross another persons mind.  Sometimes we may feel like no one understands us.  In this day and age it seems hard to find good solid friendships especially Christ centered ones.

We live in a age where we can communicate with people all around the world over the internet,  cell phones, or many other ways.  Even with all the ways we have to connect with other people we still have that sense of being all alone and that no one understands us.  Sometimes people don't understand us and sadly many people fail to take the time to get to know us.

There is something definitely missing in our culture and in our relationships with others.  I wish I could say that this was just an issue outside the confines of the Church, but the relationship problem is also affecting the Church as well I am afraid.  This saddens me because it affects our witness for our Lord Jesus Christ.

We are told in Scripture to let our lights shine for Christ in this dark and angry world.  When we fail to reach out to those in need and fail to be a friend of the friendless what kind of message are we sending to the world around us.

Sometimes we may feel like we just don't fit in with others.  We may feel like a misfit of sorts.  I know I am misfit on many levels in life.  I feel that way sometimes, but you know what the Lord loves us so very greatly and He wants the absolute best for us.  He wants us to let our lights shine for Him, so that others around us might come to know the truth of the Gospel and be saved.

The Lord knows our hearts and our thoughts.  He knows the loneliness and our struggles.  There are many believers in Christ who are single and they are worried that they may never find someone to share their lives with.  I am single and I know those feelings as well.  I have been waiting for the Lord to lead me to a wonderful Christ centered woman, but He hasn't as of yet.   I am at peace with that though and I am giving that into the Lord's hands.  He knows what is best and I know I can trust Him.

Life may not always be easy and waiting for the Lord to move in our lives can be really hard at times.  The Lord will never fail us and He never disappoints those who wait on Him.  His timing is always perfect and His way is always best.

We must be careful not to rush on ahead of the Lord or we will miss what He is trying to do in our lives.  The Lord is still at work in us through His Holy Spirit.  He is still at work in our world today and He wants us to join in with Him in that work.  It may not be what other people think we should be doing,  but if it is directed by the Lord and it is done for His glory then He will make it succeed, as long it is in obedience to His Word and His will.

Let us wait for the Lord and serve Him by reaching out to those around us with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.  Let us love the Lord with all of our hearts, minds, and souls.  May we also love each other as the Lord loves us so very much.

Lord,
Thank You for Your love for us and Your Amazing Grace.
Lead us and direct our steps as we wait for You.
Help us to form lasting Christ centered friendships.
In Jesus name we pray,
Amen.
