Saved By His Grace

There will be good days and there will be bad days for us all.  There will be times when we feel like we are really accomplishing great things for the Lord and we will make great strides in living for Him.  Then there will be those moments when we struggle, stumble, and fall.  During those moments we tend to wonder if the Lord will still forgive us even though we stepped head on into a muddy stinky pit of sin.

We all take a wrong turn in life once in a while and sometimes more than once in a while.  Sometimes we get caught up in good works.  We aren't saved by our goodness or our good deeds.  We have all sinned and have fallen short of God's high standards.  We have all missed the mark.  There is none who does good.  We have all sinned against a Holy and Righteous God and we all deserve to be eternally separated from God and placed in a literal Hell forever.

We are all pretty bad deep within our hearts.  We may like to think we are better than the person next to us, but we aren't at all.  We are much worse that we can even imagine and yet we are more loved by God than we can ever fathom.

God loves us so very much that He demonstrated His great love for all human kind by sending His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, into this world to save us from our sins.  Jesus lived a perfect and sinless life here on the earth.  He went obediently to the Cross where He laid down His life for my sins, your sins, and the sins of the whole entire world.  We must come to Jesus in faith and trust in His Grace.

Ephesians 2:8 says,

"For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith - and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God- not by works, so no one can boast."

We are saved because Jesus chose to die on the Cross for our sins.  We are saved by the shed blood of Jesus Christ.  We are saved by His Grace and His Grace alone.  There is nothing that we can do to earn our way into Heaven on our own because we are not good enough at all.  Even on our best days our good works are just garbage and filthy rags.

We obtain forgiveness of our sins by trusting in Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior and in Him alone.  Jesus paid it all for you and I.  If we confess our sins to Him, He is faithful and trustworthy to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness (I John 1:9).

We can't lose this grace and we can't earn it.  This grace is a free gift from God and it is only available through the finished work of Jesus Christ.  Our part is to come to Him in faith and trust in His grace.  He loves us so much that HE made a way for us to have forgiveness of all of our sins, past, present, and future through Jesus Christ.

I am thankful for the Lord Jesus Christ for saving a sinful wretch like me.  I sometimes stumble and fall.  I tend to wonder astray at times, but the Lord always welcomes me back and reminds my that it is by His grace that I saved and not by my works.  Thank You Jesus for saving me by Your finished work on the Cross.

Are you trusting in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior?

I hope you are.  If you aren't, I pray that you will take a moment right now to come to the Lord Jesus Christ in faith and trust in His sacrifice on the Cross for your sins.

Lord,
Thank You for Your Amazing Grace.
I pray for those in Hospitals and those facing illnesses all over.
I uplift Persecuted Christians around the world.
I pray for the peace of Israel and Jerusalem.
I pray for each one reading this blog and may Your loving hand be upon them and draw them nearer to You.
Thank You Jesus for all that You have done for us.
In Jesus name we pray,
Amen.
