Trusting the Lord When Things Don't Make Sense

There will be those times in life when something happens to us that just doesn't seem fair to us at all and we wonder to ourselves, "what is going on?"  Sometimes life isn't fair to us and sometimes we get mistreated even by those who say they love us.   There will be times when we are looked over or passed over for someone new or more experienced.  There will be times when people just don't think we are good enough for them.  Life hurts sometimes. 

The good news is that God loves us.  God cares for us.  He sees us through the darkest of moments and He will lead us through life's loneliest moments.  We may feel all alone in this world of ours, but rest assured the Lord is with us wherever we go.  There is no place we can go on the planet where the Lord is not present.  We who have put our faith in Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior also have the Holy Spirit who dwells within us and that should comfort us in our moments of despair.

There will be times when it seems like everyone is against us and sometimes they will be depending on the circumstances.  We can trust the Lord to see us through those moments as well. 

I am reminded of Proverbs 3:5-6 which says,

Trust in the Lord with all of your heart
and lean not unto your own understanding,
In all your ways acknowledge Him
and He shall direct your paths.


When things don't make sense to us in our lives we need to trust in the Lord and trust that He knows what He is doing.  Sometimes there is a greater blessing waiting for us just around the corner,  but we must wait for the Lord to lead us to it.  We may feel like running on ahead on our own,  but we would be foolish to do so.  The Lord knows what is best for us.  He is not trying to hurt us,  but He is trying to get us to a place where He can use us for His Glory. 

Life isn't easy.  We all know that by now.  Life isn't fair.  We all know that too.  People make mistakes and overlook us time and time again, but the Lord never overlooks us.  He has our best in mind even when the people around us don't seem to care for us.  We can know that God cares and He wants the best for us.  The Lord is working out all things for our good.

Let us trust the Lord no matter what difficulties arise in our lives. 

We can trust Him.

Lord,
Thank You for loving us so very much.
Thank You for loving us even when it seems other people don't
Thank You for Your goodness.
We trust You.
Lead us and guide us by Your Spirit.
In Jesus name we pray,
Amen.
