Pressing On Towards The Goal

Here we are in the start of a brand new year.   It is almost like getting a clean slate of sorts.  We don't know what the year holds for us, but we know that as followers of Jesus Christ our best days are ahead of us.

Some people may wonder how can I say such a thing the way the world is and all the darkness that seems to be springing up everywhere we look.   Don't get me wrong in this world we will indeed see troubling times and we will see and experience suffering.  Our best days will be when we step foot on God's Heavenly shore and we behold our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ with our very eyes.

All of us who have trusted in Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior will go to Heaven.  What a great Day that will be for all of us who believe on Jesus for forgiveness of our sins.  The Lord loves us so very much and He wants the very best for us in our lives.  He also wants us to be with Him for all eternity in Heaven.

We may experience trials in our journey here on the earth.  We may indeed experience heartache and loss.  We may even have to suffer for our faith in Jesus Christ.  We need to continue to run the race that the Lord has set before us until the Day He takes us Home to Heaven where we will be with Him forever.

We believers in Christ have a great hope in the Lord.  Let us continue to press on toward the goal which is to be with Jesus in Heaven.   There is only one way to get into Heaven and that is through the finished work of Jesus Christ.

I know I saw it a lot, but I think it necessary to remind ourselves again.  We can't get into Heaven on our own merits.  None of us is good enough on our own.  We have all sinned and have fallen short of God's high standards,  but God made a way for us to obtain forgiveness of our sins and have a Home in Heaven when we die.

God demonstrated His great love for each one of us by sending His One and Only Son, Jesus Christ,  into this world to live a perfect and sinless life and to lay down His life upon a cruel rugged Cross for the sins of the entire world.  Jesus shed His life's blood for you and for me and for the entire world.

God welcomes all who come to Him through Jesus Christ.  We must humble ourselves and repent of our sins and receive Jesus as our Lord and Savior.  We need to go to Him and pray and ask Him to forgive us our sins and He will forgive us.

What an Awesome God we serve!

During this New Year let us press on towards Jesus Christ and live for Him with a greater Joy in our hearts and an overflowing love from the very core of our being.

Lord,
Help our focus to be on You this coming year.
Thank You for Your goodness and mercy.
Help us to love others as Your love us and help us to express that love with our deeds.
In Jesus name we pray, Amen.
