The Message of the Cross

We can see crosses pretty much every where we look today.  There are crosses on churches.  Some people wear them as jewelry.

I have seen crosses marking people's grave site.

The cross was used as an ancient form of execution.  It was like an electric chair.

When I think of the cross I think of Jesus.  How He was betrayed, beaten, and forced to carry His own cross.  He was nailed to the cross, bled, and died on the cross.  He went obediently.  He gave up His life.  He died for my sins and yours.

I am thankful for my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  I am thankful that He went to the cross in my place.  He took the punishment I so rightly deserve.

Many people in our world today don't understand the cross and what it is all about.

It reminds me of

I Corinthians 1:18

"For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing
,but to us who are being saved it is the power of God."

I am also thankful that Jesus rose from the dead and is now at the right hand of the Father.

One day Jesus will return.

Thank You Lord that the message of the cross is not foolishness to me.

Lord,
Thank You for Your love that You showed at the cross.
We praise You for all the good things that You have done.
In Jesus name
Amen.
