There are times when are spirits feel drained and faint. We need a time of spiritually refreshing.
I felt rather lukewarm spiritually this morning. I am not sure why exactly, but all I know is I needed get alone with the Lord and spend time in His presence. I cried out to the Lord and asked that His Spirit who refresh my faith. I had my Bible open as I prayed and fellowshipped with the Lord. I was lead to Psalm 142 which seemed to fit the way I was feeling.
Psalm 142
"I cry aloud to the Lord;
I lift up my voice to the Lord
for mercy.
I pour out my complaint before Him;
before Him I tell my trouble.
When my spirit grows faint within me,
it is You who know my way.
In the path where I walk
men have hidden a snare for me.
Look to my right and see;
no one is concerned for me.
I have no refuge;
no one cares for my life.
I cry to You, O Lord;
I say, "You are my refuge, my portion in the land of the living."
Listen to my cry,
for I am desperate need;
rescue me from those who pursue me,
for they are too strong for me.
Set me free from my prison,
that I may praise Your name.
Then the righteous will gather about me
because of Your goodness to me."
When we feel alone and discouraged we must remember that the Lord is our refuge and strength. He is our God and He is always there in our time of need.
When we feel dry and lukewarm we should get alone with the Lord and just rejoice in His presence.
He will revive us and give us the strength we need. He answered my prayer and I am thankful for all He does and is doing in my life.
Do you need to be refreshed by the Lord?
Lord,
Thank You for being our refuge.
Revive us Lord with Your Holy Spirit.
Give us a fresh faith to bring glory to Your name.
Bless us Lord
In Jesus name
Amen.
