When I look back over my life I can see many changes have happened to me over the years. We all change over time. When we are children we are small and as we grow our bodies change and we grow up.
We know the weather changes sometimes many times in the same day. I live in northern Maine I know changes in the weather. We have short summers and seemly long, cold harsh winters.
Change happens. Some changes are welcomed and happy. We fall in love and get married. We have a new family. We get a new job. Those changes can be really good.
Some changes are not so good. We lose our job. A loved one dies. We get hurt in an accident.
Change can be hard on us. We like smooth sailing through life. I do, but I have been around long enough to know that things change. I remind myself that I still live in a sinful fallen world and things aren't always going to be good here on earth. I do know that one day that too will change when Jesus comes back as the King of kings and Lord of lords.
I am also thankful that Jesus never changes.
Hebrews 13:8 says,
"Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever."
Even when things seem crazy and going down hill. We can look to the One who is always faithful, true, and never changes.
Let us lift our eyes to Jesus.
Lord,
Thank You for never changing.
Thank You for Your love and Your Grace.
Bless each one of us this night.
