Believing in Jesus

There are many people in our world who know about Jesus.  Notice I said know about Him.

I know about a lot of people, but that doesn't mean I know them.  I know about Pastor Jim Cymbala at the Brooklyn Tabernacle in New York, but I don't know him because I have never met him.

There are many people who claim they know Jesus, but they have never come to trust Him as their Lord and Savior.   We need to know Jesus in order to be saved from our sins.  It was Jesus who died on the cross, shedding His blood, for our sins.

We come to Jesus by putting our faith in Him and in Him alone. 

John 3:16-21 says,

"For God so loved the world that He gave His one
and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall
not perish but have eternal life.

For God did not send His Son into the world
to condemn the world, but to save the world
through Him.

Whoever believes in Him is not condemned,
but whoever does not believe stands condemned
already because he has not believed in the name
of God's one and only Son.

This is the verdict:  Light has come into the world,
but men loved darkness instead of light because
their deeds were evil.

Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come to the light
for fear that his deeds will be exposed.

But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light,
so that it may be seen plainly that what he has done has been
done through God."

We are saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ.
