Keep Praying

It seems like many people these days view prayer as something they do as a last resort.  Prayer should be the first thing that we do as believers in Jesus Christ.  We can see in the Gospels that Jesus called out to the Father on many different occasions.  Sometimes Jesus got up very early and went to a private place by himself to pray.  We must always pray and we must never give up.

There will be days that challenge after challenge will come against us and we will feel beaten down and ready to give up.  We must not give up as if we have no hope.  We do have hope in our Mighty Lord our God.  We can call out to Him in prayer at anytime no matter where we are.  He is always available to listen to us. 

I have heard some people say that their need was so small that they didn't want to bother the Lord with their request.  The Lord wants to hear from us about any concern big or small.  If the concern is important to us then it is indeed important to the Lord as well because He loves us and cares for us more deeply than any other human being ever could.

Matthew 7:7-8 says,

"Ask and it will be given to you;

seek and you will find;

knock and the door will be opened to you.

For everyone who asks receives;

he who seeks finds;

and to him who knocks,

the door will be opened."

The Lord wants us to seek Him in prayer.  He wants us to knock on the door of Heaven ask for His will to be done in our lives and the lives of those around us.  He wants us to pray for others and we ought to pray for ourselves as well. 

We need to keep prayer for our lost friends and neighbors.  We need to keep praying for those in need.  We need to keep praying for those suffering with cancer and other illnesses of all types.

We must keep praying for the leaders of our nation and all the nations of this world.  We must pray that our nation will return to the Lord and be reestablished upon Biblical principles on which it was founded. 

We must humble ourselves and repent of any and all sin and return the Lord so that He will hear our prayers and heal our land.  Let us continue to call out to the Lord with all kinds of request and trust that He will answer our prayers in accordance to His will.

I would like to encourage you to never give up hope no matter how grim the circumstances may be.  We must never give up the hope we have in the Lord our God.  Sometimes we have to go through a dark lonesome valley and we may feel like everything is against us, but make sure that you remember that you are not alone in the mess that you are in.  The Lord is with you each step of the way.  He promises to never leave us and He will never forsake us.  It may be tough going.  There may be troubles every where.  We may even feel abandoned by our friends and loved ones, but take heart the Lord is near to the broken hearted.

There will be days that Lord may seem so far away and may indeed feel like He has left us, but remember He hasn't left you to go through this trial alone.  He is right there by your side even when you can't sense Him. 

Let us keep calling out to the Lord.  Let us worship Him and praise His name.  He is our Lord.  He is our Mighty Awesome Holy God.  He alone is worthy of all of our praise and adoration.  May His praise be continually upon our lips

Make sure you pray for your Pastor and fellow Christians all around the world.  Let us pray for a world wide revival.  May the Holy Spirit sweep across this world igniting the greatest revival every seen.  Our God can do it.  He is all powerful.  He can change a heart of stone and make it soft.
He can take the hardest person and turn them into a believer and a follower.

Let us keep praying to the Lord and trust Him to answer our prayers.

Lord,
Help us to pray.
We lift up our leaders and our nations.
We pray for a world wide revival.
Pour out Your Spirit upon us O Lord.
Lead us and guide us.
In Jesus name,
Amen.
