I was just
sitting here trying to figure out what I was going to write about in tonight’s
blog post. I have been experiencing some
internet connection problems for the past few weeks since I “upgraded” to a
better connection from the internet provider that I currently have, so
far.
I called the
tech support line and they were very helpful I must say. They ran me through many steps trying to get
my computer to connect, but nothing worked.
They even sent a technician to my place to see if he could fix it and
for a few minutes everything seemed to go very well. I was reconnected, that is until about 5
minutes after he left, then I lost the connection again.
Then I
called tech support again and went through more steps trying to reconnect my
computer to the internet. I was on the
phone for about two hours and a half this afternoon trying to get reconnected,
but to no avail. It was getting close to
supper time and I was getting hungry so I thanked the technician for his time
and said I would call back later.
I was
thinking about all this and I thank God that we can still stay connected to Him
when we know Him. Our connection will
never be broken if we put our faith and trust in Jesus Christ. We may feel disconnected from Him sometimes
when there is sin in our lives or we grow cold spiritually, but we must know
that it was not God that moved, but it was we who moved.
We are only
one step away from returning to the Lord.
He is always waiting to hear from us and He is always ready to help
us.
If you are
feeling disconnected from the Lord, sometimes we all do, just remember He has
never left you and He never will. Jesus
loves you and He wants you to know that you can feel connected to Him. We connect to Him by faith.
We come to
Him by faith in His finished work on the cross and He dwells in us by His Holy
Spirit. Sometimes life gets hard and
difficult. We may not know where to turn
or how things are going to work out, but we must remember that we belong to the
Lord Jesus Christ. He is our Lord and
Savior. He is Mighty and all powerful.
I am
reminded of John 15:1-8 which says,
“I am the true vine, and my Father is
the gardener.
He cuts off every branch in me that
bears no fruit,
while every branch that does bear
fruit He prunes so that it
will be even more fruitful.
You are already clean because of the
word I have spoken to you.
Remain in me, and I will remain in
you.
No branch can bear fruit by itself;
it must remain in the vine.
Neither can you bear fruit unless you
remain in me.
I am the vine; you are the branches.
If a man remains in me and I in him,
he will bear much fruit;
apart from me you can do nothing.
If anyone does not remain in me, he
is like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up,
thrown in the fire and burned.
If you remain in me and my words
remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be given you.
This is to my Father’s glory, that
you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples.”
If we want
to bear fruit for the Lord we must learn that we can’t do that in our own power
and in our own strength. The only way we
can bear lasting fruit is do it while being connected to the Lord Jesus
Christ. Apart from Jesus we can’t accomplish
anything of lasting value.
It is easy
as turning to Him in prayer and telling Him that we are sorry for drifting away
and that we need Him in our lives. We
enter our relationship with the Lord Jesus by faith and we continue our walk
with Him by faith.
Sometimes
our faith is shaken to the very core.
Sometimes doubt tries to knock us down.
There will be times when the darkness seems to be closing in on us and
we will feel like there are giants staring down at us and we may feel all alone
in this world. I would like to remind
you that you are never ever alone.
The Lord
Jesus is with you each step of the way.
He is the One we can trust. He is
the One that we must remain connected too.
He is the One that gives us the strength to press on not matter what
happens in our lives. We can trust Him
to be faithful and trustworthy.
Let us come
boldly to the throne of grace and find mercy and love.
Let us lay
down our burdens at the foot of the cross where Jesus died.
We must
remember that He still lives and that He is in us who believe by His Holy
Spirit.
Lord,
We thank you for Your
faithfulness. Thank You for the
connection that we have to You by faith.
Thank You that You never disconnect from us. We do realize sometimes our sin gets in the
way of our connecting to You and we are sorry for that. We repent of that sin and want to reconnect
to You. We Praise Your Holy name. Help us to forgive those who hurt us. Lead us and guide us by Your Holy Spirit.
In Jesus name,
Amen
