Holding On To Hope

Sometimes the world seems rather hopeless at times.  There is the threats of terrorism, shootings, violence, and people just seem to get angrier as time goes on. 

The follower of Jesus Christ knows that there is hope for the people of this world if only they would receive Jesus as their Lord and Savior.  He is the true living hope that they need.  He is the only hope that we have.  He is the only one that can bring us everlasting peace that flows through our minds and settles in our very hearts.  The Lord Jesus doesn't give us a peace that the world gives.  The peace He gives us is a peace that surpasses all understanding. 

The only way we can get this peace is by coming to the Lord Jesus Christ in faith.  When we put our faith and trust in Him He gives us the Holy Spirit to dwell within us.  The Holy Spirit will continue to work in us and making us to be more like Christ and that process will be completed when the Lord takes us to be with Him in Heaven.

I am reminded of Hebrews 10:19-25 which says,

"Therefore, brothers, since we have confidence to enter the
Most Holy Place by the blood of Jesus,
by a new and living way opened for us through the curtain,
that is, His body, and since we have a great priest over the house of God,
let us draw near to God with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith,
having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies
washed with pure water.

Let us hold unswervingly to the hope that we profess,

for He who promised is faithful.

And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds.

Let us not give us meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage

one another-and all the more as you see the Day approaching."

We can have absolute confidence in the Lord Jesus Christ because He is faithful and always true to His promises.  He shed His blood for our sins.  He took the punishment that we so rightly deserved.  Hw rose from the dead to show us that He is indeed God.  One day He will return to the earth.

We must continue trusting in Him and encourage others to do the same.  He is our eternal hope.

We must hold onto Him for who He is.  He is our Lord and Savior.  He is our redeemer and a friend that sticks closer than a brother.  He is Awesome and Holy.  He is the Just Judge.

Is your hope found in Jesus Christ?

He is the only hope that you and I have.  He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life.  No one can come to the Father except through Jesus Christ.  Trust Him.

Lord,

Thank You for being our hope.

Thank You for You love and Your peace in our hearts.

We surrender ourselves to You.
