Be Strong In The Lord

There is something that many believers in Jesus Christ sometimes fail to recognize and that is that the moment that we trusted Jesus as our Lord and Savior we entered into a war.  This is not a physical war, but it is a spiritual war.  Spiritual warfare is real and it is happening all around us even if we can see it or sometimes we may not completely understand it.

We can learn from the Bible that our struggle isn't against flesh and blood.  The unbelievers are not our enemies as hard as that is to believe sometimes.  They have been deceived by the devil and they have not come to the truth of who God is and that He loves them and sent Jesus to save them.

The devil and his demons stir up trouble all around us.  The devil is running around trying to do as much damage as possible because he knows the clock is ticking and soon his time will be up.  The Lord Jesus Christ will return very soon and put all his enemies under His feet.  The devil and his demons will be crushed once and for all one day.  Until then we believers in Christ must be prepared to stand firm in the Lord and in His mighty power.

Even though the world may be getting worse and turning darker day by day we must remember that we believers in Jesus Christ belong to Him and He will protect us by His power.  The Lord is the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords.  He is more powerful than anything the devil and his demons can ever throw at us.  Spiritual warfare can seem scary and we may want to shy away from it, but we can't because it is real and we are partakers in it whether we like it or not.  When we trusted Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior the devil became our enemy and he will try to make us look bad and try to trip us up.  Thankfully we are not on our own in this battle.  We believers have the precious Holy Spirit dwelling in us and we also have the Holy Bible.

The Apostle Paul tells us to put on the full armor of God.  This is a spiritual armor that we can put on by prayer and it is a good idea to that each day as we start our day.

Ephesians 6:10-18 says,

"Finally, be strong in the Lord and in His mighty power.
Put on the full armor if God so that you can take your stand against
the devil's schemes.

For our struggle is not against flesh and blood,
but against the rulers, against the authorities,
against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil
in the heavenly realms.

Therefore put on the full armor of God,
so that when the day of evil comes,
you may be able to stand your ground,
and after you have done everything, to stand.

Stand firm then,
with the belt of truth buckled around your waist,
with the breastplate of righteousness in place,
and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel
of peace.

In addition to all this,
take up the shield of faith,
with which you can extinguish
all the flaming arrows of the evil one.

Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit,
which is the word of God.
And pray in the Spirit on all occasions
with all kinds of prayers and request.

With this in mind,
be alert and always keep praying for all the saints."

We must continue to pray to the Lord with all kinds of prayers and pray also for all believers in Christ Jesus all over the world.  We must read and study God's Holy Word, the Bible, everyday.

Let us stand firm in the truth of who the Lord is.

The Lord will protect us and He will provide for us.

We can trust in Him for He is faithful.

Let us put on the full armor of God, stand firm, and pray that our faith and trust in Him will grow even greater.

Lord,
Thank You for Your Word.
Thank You that we can stand firm in You.
You are all powerful.
Help us Lord to live for You and love You more.
Lead us and direct our steps.
In Jesus name,
Amen.
