Sometimes it seems people take more care about getting ready for a trip then getting ready for eternity. There are a very few people around us at any given time that have even thought about getting ready to meet the Lord. There is an appointed time in which each one of us will die and then we face the judgement. Those who have confessed that they are sinners and have received Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior will enter Heaven when they die because they have trusted that Jesus died on the cross for their sins. He paid for our sins by shedding His own precious blood for us on the cross.
Those who have not trusted in Jesus substitutionary death on the cross for our sins will be sent to a literal Hell for all eternity because they are still in their sins and did not receive the free gift of salvation by trusting in Jesus Christ and what He did on the cross for them. Why do people reject God's offer of salvation through Jesus Christ? Sometimes the devil prevents a person from seeing the truth. Sometimes people just think it seems to easy. God made it simple because He does not want anyone to go to Hell. It is not His goal that anyone should perish, but unfortunately people chose not to listen to the truth of God's Word. They refuse the Holy Spirit trying to draw them to the Lord Jesus. In the end it is not God sending them to Hell for being "bad", but because they refused to come to God on His terms. They refused to receive forgiveness of their sins that is only offered through Jesus Christ.
Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life. He is the only way to the Father. There is no other way into Heaven. The only way in is through Jesus Christ.
There is coming a day when Jesus will return to this earth. He won't be coming as a baby in a manger this time. This time He will be coming as the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords. He will reign on the earth. All will answer to Him.
We don't know when the Lord Jesus will come, but we must be ready. Matthew 24:36-44 says,
"But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.
As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man.
For in the days before the flood, people were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, up to the day Noah entered the ark;
and they knew nothing about what would happen until the flood came and took them all away. That is how it will be at the coming of the Son of Man.
Two men will be in the field; one will be taken and the other left.
Two women will be grinding with a hand mill; one will be taken and the other left.
“Therefore keep watch, because you do not know on what day your Lord will come.
But understand this: If the owner of the house had known at what time of night the thief was coming, he would have kept watch and would not have let his house be broken into.
So you also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him."
One day Jesus Christ will come back as He said He would. We may die before that and go and stand before Him. We must be ready to see Jesus.
Are you ready?
If you are not ready I hope that you take this moment and get ready by asking Jesus Christ to be your Lord and Savior right now right where you are. Ask Him to forgive you of your sins and receive His forgiveness. He loves you. He died for you to reconcile you back to God the Father.
Come to Jesus before it is too late for you my friend.
Lord,
We thank You for forgiveness of our sins through Jesus Christ death on the cross.
Thank You for Your great love and amazing grace.
Draw people to Yourself through the Holy Spirit.
