Lifting Our Eyes To Jesus

There seems to be a lot of negativity in our world these days.  That almost seems like an understatement actually.  When we look at the evening news on the television we can see all the things that are going on in our world and in our Nation.  There is a lot of division everywhere we look.  One side is pitted against the other side and no one can seem to agree on anything.  There seems to be a darkening bleak mean spirited attitude that is effecting our leadership to the very core.

There is something brewing just under the surface in our world today and it just doesn't seem to be good.  There seems to be something rotten to the very core.  The devil is running around stirring up trouble wherever he can because he knows his time is short. 

The devil is attacking the family structure more so nowadays than he has in times past. 
When the family starts to crumble then everything else in society just falls apart.  There is a storm brewing in our country and in our world.  We may indeed already be in the storm.  The anger and hostility seems to be growing and growing.  People are watching and waiting to see what happens next.

We wonder how much farther could things possible go?  We know that things will get worse until the coming the our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  The Lord is coming and His coming is nearer now then when we first believed.

There is still hope for those all around us.  You and I who have put our faith in Christ Jesus have our hope in His finished work on the Cross for our sins and we have hope that One Day He will come back and take us Home to Heaven to be will Him forever.

When things seem dark and hopeless we must remember to whom we belong.  We belong to Jesus if we have trusted Him as our Lord and Savior.  We are to trust Him and walk with Him each and everyday.

Let's lift up our heads and keep our eyes upon Jesus. 

Lord,

Things seem to be falling apart all around us.

We don't know what will happen next, but we are thankful that we know You and are known by You.

You are the Lord our God.

We praise Your name.

Lead us and guide us.

Pour out Your Spirit upon us and use us to proclaim the Gospel to those around us.

Help us to lift up our eyes and focus on You O Lord.
