Letting Our Light Shine

The Lord Jesus Christ came into this world of ours to save us from our sins.  We have all sinned and we have all fallen short of God's glory.  Jesus died on the Cross shedding His blood for our sins, past, present, and future.  Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.  We are saved by faith in the Grace of Jesus Christ.

We who have put our faith and trust in Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior have forgiveness of our sins and a place in Heaven where we will be with the Lord forever.   Since we have been saved by what Jesus Christ did for us  on the Cross then, how shall we now live?

The Lord has given each of us the command to go into all the world and spread the Gospel message of Jesus Christ.  The Lord tells us to be the salt of the earth.  We are also to let our light to shine in this world of darkness.  The darkness seems to be spreading into every area of life here on earth.  We are the light of the world.  We believers in Christ that is.

We are to let our lights shine in this world so that people who will see our good deeds will give credit and glory to God Himself.  The question that remains is this, "Do people know why we are doing good deeds and living differently than they are?"  I wonder sometimes if people realize that we are serving the Lord Jesus when we do good deeds and act kindly.  Many worldly people act nice and do good deeds, but they have no relationship with the Lord.

Maybe it is time to let someone know that we are serving Jesus Christ when we are doing good things in our communities.  We should tell them in a gentle way to hopefully win them to the Lord.  Isn't that our mission?  We are to be witnesses for the Lord here on the earth and spread the life changing message of Jesus Christ.

Let's allow His light to shine through us in such a way that people will know that we are serving the Lord Jesus Christ and that He will get all the glory and praise.

Lord,

Help us to allow Your light to shine through us into this dark world that so badly needs to hear the Gospel.

We praise Your name O Lord.

Lead us and guide us by Your Spirit.

In Jesus name we pray

Amen.
