Keep Praying

The world seems to be unraveling into a vast darkness right before our very eyes.  There is much anger.  There is a coldness in people hearts and in their attitudes with one another.   Things seem rather bleak in our world today with all of the strife, division, war, hatred, famine, and uneasiness.

Some wonder where the Church is in all of this.  Many wonder why believers aren't doing something.  Well,  I am here to tell you that there are believers in Jesus Christ that are doing something.  Many are praying and calling out to God for their communities, for their families,  for their co-workers, for the President, and for many other concerns that are on their hearts.

Sometimes we believers in Christ feel like we are all alone in our walk with the Lord.  We believers in Jesus Christ have the Holy Spirit indwelling within us to lead us and guide us in our walk with the Lord.  We also must remember that there are other believers in Christ all around us and some are even praying for us.  They may not attend our local church, but they maybe in our very communities.

The other night I had the privilege to take part in a gathering of other men who are believers in Jesus Christ in the town where I live and we sang some songs of praise to the Lord.  We also prayed together.  We lifted up our community to the Lord and asked Him to break the bondage of addiction and to lift the terrible darkness that seems to have plagued this land for far to long.

We were probably a little over twenty men in number from various churches in the surrounding region.  I could sense the Lord's presence there are we gathered to pray.  Sometimes we Christians forget that we need each other.

We may be tempted to think, "What could a small group of believers in Jesus Christ accomplish by praying?"   I would say in response, "Never underestimate the power of prayer that is offered up to the Living God in the name of Jesus Christ in faith."

The Lord wants to hear from His children and He will answer according to His will.  It is God's will that people hear the Gospel message of Jesus Christ and have the opportunity to have their sins forgiven by putting their faith in Jesus Christ who shed His precious blood for our sins.

We believers in Christ Jesus must get together and pray in one accord for our broken world.  We must pray for those who are trapped in sinful bondage.  We must pray for those who are sick with cancer and various forms of illness.  We must humble ourselves and repent of our sins and call out to our Lord in prayer.  When we do that that Lord will hear our cries and He will answer and heal our land.

Our land is in desperate need of healing.  Our world needs healing.  Marriages need healing.  Churches need healing.  Families need healing.  There is much brokenness all around us and it will only get worse unless the Lord intervenes.

We must remember that the Lord Jesus used twelve ordinary men to spread the Gospel throughout the world.  The Lord can use each one of us to do His will and spread His Word.  The question is,  "Are we willing to do what the Lord has called us to do?"

The Lord will equip us for whatever He wants us to do.  He will prepare us.  We must be motivated to serve Him and we must trust Him.

Let's keep praying and trusting in the Lord to do a great work amongst us in our day.

Lord,  Heavenly Father,

We come humbly to Your throne of Grace.

We thank You for Your goodness and Your mercy that is new every morning.

We thank You that we can call out to You in prayer and You hear us.

Lord,  We uplift our family and friends who don't know You.

We ask that You will reach out to them some how and some way.

We pray for our communities and our country.

We pray for our leaders.

We up lift those who have given themselves over to drugs and alcohol.

Break the bondage in their lives.

Break the bondage in our lives as well.

Lead us and guide us by Your Holy Spirit.

Come Soon Lord

In Jesus name we pray,

Amen.
