None of us truly like to be tested. We don't like being tested in school. We really don't like to be tested by doctors. Test of faith are necessary for us to learn what we truly know and what we truly believe. When our faith is tested we have a choice of either becoming bitter and angry at God or we can trust Him through it and know that whatever the outcome maybe God will see us through it.
It may not be easy. It may not be quick. It may hurt, a lot. It may get really uncomfortable and awkward, but God will see us through if we just trust in Him. The Lord loves us very deeply. He is not out to hurt us. The Lord wants us to come to Him in our trials and trust Him through them.
God loves us so much that He sent Jesus to the earth on a rescue mission to save us from our sins. We have all sinned and have fallen short of God's high standards. We can't save ourselves. There is not one of us that is good enough on our own merit to enter Heaven. God is Holy and nothing sinful can ever enter His presence. God made away for us to enter Heaven by sending Jesus to the Cross where He shed His precious blood for our sins. Jesus rose from the dead on the third day to show us that He is indeed God. We must come to the Lord and admit to Him that we are sinners and can't save ourselves. Then we must receive Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior. When we do the Holy Spirit comes to live within us.
God is an Awesome loving God. For a little while now I have been taking photographs of God's Creation so I can get a deeper appreciation and reminder of how great the Lord is. We can find out also how great He is by reading His Holy Word, the Bible. We can see how God has worked in people's lives since the very Creation of the world.
The other night I took some pictures of the night sky. It was only my second attempt in trying night time shooting with my camera so the pictures aren't really great, but they still make me to take pause at the grandness of the Lord our God and His Creation. I felt so small as I looked up at the night sky and saw all of those stars.
I was reminded of Psalm 147:4-5 which says,
"He determines the number of the stars and calls them each by name.
Great is our Lord and mighty in power;
His understanding has no limit."
The Lord who placed all the stars in space and knows them by name loves you with a greater love than we can fathom with our little minds. Sometimes in the pain of trials we forget how truly Awesome our God truly is and we forget all that He has done and suffered for us.
When we are going through a painful trial or affliction may we remember that God is for us and He is not against us if we are truly believing and trusting in Him. Don't let the devil distract you with worry and fear. Cast those thoughts aside and refocus on the Creator and Maker of all things who paid the cost for you to have an eternal home in Heaven by sending His one and only Son, Jesus Christ, to die on the Cross for your sins and mine and the whole world's.
Look around sometime at God's creation and remember how great He is and how great His thoughts are for you because He does love you with an everlasting love.
Lord,
Thank You for Your Creation. Everything You have made is beautiful.
Thank You for showing Your love for us even though we know sometimes we aren't very lovable.
We thank You that You look at our hearts that have been cleansed by the shed blood of Jesus Christ.
Lead us and guide us closer in love with You Lord and Your Holy Word.
