Sometimes the battles that we face seem so difficult that we wonder if we will make it through. There are times in life when the hill will be hard to climb and the enemy will seem far more stronger and bigger than we are. There are indeed challenges that we all will face in life. Sometimes, we who are believers and followers of Jesus Christ, will be faced with a decision to do what the Lord wants us to do and trust Him or remain silent and allow evil to win another victory.
Jesus tells us that we, the Church, are supposed to be the salt of the earth. Salt adds flavor and stops things from being bland and awful. I usually put saltine crackers in my soup. The one's I buy always have the salt on the top and I find it rather tasty. One time on a shopping trip I accidentally got the box of saltine crackers that had no salt on top. I never noticed until I had my first bite of soup with those crackers in it. I noticed right off that something was amiss.
That got me thinking about the Church, that is the body of Christ. Have we lost our salt or our influence in our communities and in our world today? Well, all we have to do is look around us and see all the things that are going on to see the answer to that question. I have heard many stories about Christians that never spoke up about certain things that were going on in their communities and even in their own churches. I admit it is more comfortable to keep quiet and we don't want to ruffle anyone's feathers sort of speak.
Jesus calls us to do just that, however, in the Bible. We are to be witnesses for Him in this dark and sinful world. We are told to take the gospel message to all the world and that will indeed ruffle some feathers.
It is time for the Church to stand upon the Rock of Christ with all boldness and proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ to a dying world. We must stand firm in the truth of who Jesus is. He is our Lord and our Savior. He is our redeemer and closest friend. We must take a stand when people mock Him by living for their own wicked schemes.
We are in a battle. People's eternal lives are at stake. People need to hear the Gospel message of Jesus Christ. We need a revival in the Church. There needs to be a Spiritual Awakening that sweeps across this Nation and spread to every Nation on the earth. May our pray be, "Lord, let revival begin in me."
Lord, Heavenly Father,
We praise Your Name.
You are Holy.
Lord, there seems to be so much evil and wickedness all around us.
Help us not to be negative, but help us to lean on You and trust You through this storm.
Awaken us to Your Glory.
Empower us to take a stand for what is right in Your eyes.
May Your will be done.
In Jesus Name we pray, Amen.
