It is through Jesus that we have hope of having our sins forgiven by His finished work on the Cross. Jesus shed His blood on the Cross for our sins, past, present, and future. This isn't the wishful thinking kind of hope that the world offers. This is the very sure thing hope based upon what God has done for us through Jesus Christ. It is through Jesus Christ that we have forgiveness of our sins and a place in Heaven when we place our faith and trust in Him.
The Lord is so very awesome and loving. God demonstrated His great love for all people by sending Jesus to this world to live a perfect and sinless life. Jesus went obediently to the Cross where He died for our sins and who ever believes on Him and His finished work will be saved. We have a great living hope in Jesus Christ.
No matter what turmoil and trouble may arise in our lives we can cling to the absolute hope that we have in Jesus Christ. I like what the Apostle Peter says in I Peter 1:3-9 which says,
"3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His abundant mercy has begotten us again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,
4 to an inheritance incorruptible and undefiled and that does not fade away, reserved in heaven for you,
5 who are kept by the power of God through faith for salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.
6 In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while, if need be, you have been grieved by various trials,
7 that the genuineness of your faith, being much more precious than gold that perishes, though it is tested by fire, may be found to praise, honor, and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ,
8 whom having not seen a you love. Though now you do not see Him, yet believing, you rejoice with joy inexpressible and full of glory,
9 receiving the end of your faith--the salvation of your souls."
When the days seem long and troubles seem like the will never cease knocking on our door we can remember the blessed living hope that we have in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. The journey won't be easy. We all face troubles and hardships. We all go through the fire of affliction, but our God has promised that He will always be with us even until the very end of the age.
The Lord can be trusted. The Lord is always faithful. The Lord loves us and one day when our life's journey has come to an end and we have finished the race we can know that the Lord Jesus will be there at the finish line waiting for us with opened arms. What a great hope we have in Jesus!
Are you trusting in this living hope?
Lord, Heavenly Father,
We praise Your Name.
You are Holy and Just in Your Judgments.
Thank You for never leaving us and never forsaking us.
Thank You for loving us and thank You for showing us mercy.
Thank You Jesus for being our living hope.
Lead us and guide us through Your Word and the Holy Spirit.
In Jesus Name we pray,
Amen.
