Such A Time As This

Sometimes it is all too easy for us to be complacent in our walk with Christ.  We get comfortable and sometimes we get too comfortable.  When we think of things that are dangerous to our testimony we often think of the sin in our lives.  We try to live for the Lord and be empowered by the Holy Spirit, but sometimes we fail to step out in faith while trusting the Lord to work through us.  Then we look at the world around us and wonder why no one is standing up for what is right anymore.  We wonder who will say enough is enough and step out of their comfort zone and proclaim the good news of Jesus Christ and follow through on whatever the Lord has them to do.  When we think of such things we often think of other people, but what if the Lord is calling you or me to take a stand for what is right.  What if the Lord Jesus has brought us to this very place in life for a specific purpose to proclaim His Glory and Power to all of those around us for a witness to His Awesomeness.

We like our comfort zones.  We like it when life is going smoothly.  We praise God for an easy life, but you know following Jesus was never meant to be easy.  We can read Hebrews 11 and see all the people who walked by faith and we can see that their lives were anything but easy.  They never saw many of the promises of God fulfilled in their lifetimes, but they walked by faith in the One True God and they knew He was and is faithful and true.

Sometimes things happen in our lives that cause a spark in our hearts.  There are times when God grabs a hold of someone and sets them our for a purpose to do what is right in His eyes and to proclaim Him among the unbelievers around us.

I am reminded of the book of Esther this day.  (Here is a link to the book of Esther)  http://www.biblestudytools.com/passage/?q=esther+1;+esther+2;+esther+3;+esther+4;+esther+5;+esther+6;+esther+7;+esther+8;+esther+9;+esther+10

Esther was a Jew and as Queen she learned about a plot to kill the Jewish people.  She was wondering in the end of chapter 4 of she should approach the King and tell him about the plot.  She didn't want to step out of her comfort zone.  She would have be safe, but at the cost of many of her people if she remained silent.  Sometimes our silence can be deadly for others around us.  Sometimes we allow fear to cloud our judgment.

Mordecai sent a message to Esther in chapter 4:13-14 which said,

"...Do not think that because you are in the king's house you alone of
all the Jews will escape.

For if you remain silent at this time, relief and deliverance for the Jews will
arise from another place, but you and your father's family will perish.

And who knows but that you have come to this royal position for such a time as this?"

Is the Lord calling you to take a stand for something in your country, state, or town?

We may be the only one that will stand up for the Lord, but we won't be standing totally alone for the Lord will be with us and He will work through us for His Glory if we are willing.  Isn't time to step out in faith and trust the Lord?

Isn't time to start living for Jesus and stand up for what is right?

Esther decided to go to the king and she took a stand for what was right.  There are many things going on our world today and we who are believers in Jesus Christ need to take stand for Him and all that is truly right.  The world is spiraling out of control and time is running out.  We need to stand up for the truth of God's Word and proclaim the truth of Jesus Christ.

There are many opportunities all around us where the Lord can use us to show His Power and Glory.

Is there something going on in your community that you should take a stand on?  The Lord is calling us to live for Him and proclaim the truth of who He is to those all around us.

Lord, Heavenly Father,
Forgive us and especially me for becoming too comfortable at times and not living fully for You.
Help us to serve You where You want us.
Help us to have the courage to take a stand for what is right in Your eyes.
Let us be able to say with Esther, "If I perish, I perish."
We trust You Lord for You alone are God and all things are possible with You.
May Your will be done.
In Jesus Name we pray,
Amen.
