Praising The Lord For His Goodness

Sometimes it is all too easy to get distracted with the things of this world and lose our focus on the Lord.  When we take our eyes off of the Lord and forget to acknowledge Him in our lives our faith will start to grow cold.  We need to remember who the Lord is and who we are in Christ.  We get good reminders by reading the Bible.  Reading God's Word is a great way to learn more about the Lord and His Word teaches us who He is and how we all can be reconciled back to Him through faith in Jesus Christ.

There are a lot of bad things happening in our world these days.  It seems like there is more darkness than light.  There seems to be a lot of anger and hatred floating around in our world today.  Sometimes we get so tired of hearing about all the bad things and we forget the goodness of God.  God is still good.  The Lord Jesus never changes.  He is the same yesterday, today, and forever more.

The Lord is always with us wherever we go.  He promises that He will never leave us nor will He ever forsake us.  When we place our faith in Jesus Christ and His finished work on the Cross then we have salvation and we are safely held in His loving hands and nothing will allow Him to lose His grip on us.

The Lord loves us with a deep and everlasting love.  How do we show Him our love and appreciation?  We praise Him and come to Him in worship.  God is worthy of our praise and worship.
We can praise Him when times are good and we can praise Him when things go bad.

Psalm 150

1 Praise the LORD.aPraise God in his sanctuary; praise him in his mighty heavens.

2 Praise him for his acts of power; praise him for his surpassing greatness.

3 Praise him with the sounding of the trumpet, praise him with the harp and lyre,

4 praise him with timbrel and dancing, praise him with the strings and pipe,

5 praise him with the clash of cymbals, praise him with resounding cymbals.

6 Let everything that has breath praise the LORD. Praise the LORD.

We will all encounter trouble in this fallen world of ours.  Jesus told us that in this world troubles will come, but we can take heart in knowing that Jesus has overcome the world.

Let's praise the Lord with our voices and music as well.  May we also praise the Lord by living our lives in full devotion to Him.

Lord, Heavenly Father,

We praise You.
We love You Lord and we thank You for Your goodness even when everything seems to be going wrong.
Lead us and guide us by Your Holy Spirit.
In Jesus Name we pray,
Amen.
