Trusting The Lord To Answer Our Prayers In His Timing

We believers in Jesus Christ are told in Scripture how important it is for us to pray and we ought to lift up many prayers unto the Lord in faith.  Sometimes we offer up prayers and we don't see an answer right away or even at all.  There are other times when we do see those answers to our prayers and we should give thanks to the Lord and praise Him for His goodness.

There was a young woman who was diagnosed with cancer not long ago and she ended up dying this past Saturday.  Last Thursday I heard that she wasn't doing very well and she was in a hospital in a city 50 miles north from where I live.  That Thursday I felt a heavy burden on me and I just felt really uneasy.  I kept driving and on a road that heads north and I started praying for the Lord to give a miracle to the family of this woman who was in her very last hours of life.

There was still a heaviness on my shoulders as I stopped at the red light.  Then right in front of me in the sky I saw a wonderful towering cloud.  There was a slight  hole in the top where the sun was shining threw the opening and you could see the sun's rays dancing across the sky.  I just can't describe with mere words how wonderfully beautiful this scene was, but all I know is that when I saw it the heavy weight that I felt on my lifted off of my shoulders and my spirit just leaped for joy.  Words of praise just came out of my mouth.  I was also playing a Jason Runnels Gospel CD in my vehicle at the time and as I looked at this beautiful sight the song, "Amazing Grace My Chains Are Gone", started to play.

Tears came flowing from my eyes and I just continued praising the Lord for His goodness and mercy.  I am not sure what the Lord was up to in that moment, but I knew that my prayer was heard and answered in God's way and in His perfect timing.

I did learn that the woman I mentioned received Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior just before she left this world in death.  I do know that she was baptized on that Thursday night.  I just praise the Lord that He is still at work in our world today.

There is wonderful hope in Jesus Christ for each one of us.  I pray that each one that reads these blog post will be drawn nearer to the Lord Jesus Christ and that someone who has never received Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior would receive Him right now right where they are.

Lord,
Thank You for answered prayer.
Thank You for being an awesome loving God.
I uplift the woman's family and her husband for comfort and strength.
I pray for my family, co-workers, and my friends to make peace with You Lord by receiving Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.
Draw us nearer to You O Lord.
In Jesus Name we pray,
Amen.
