Freedom In Christ

Today is July 4th and this is the day we celebrate Independence Day here in America.

We celebrate with parades, family gatherings, lots of food, and fireworks.

We take time to remember that freedom is not free.

There are many in our world today who think they are free because they are aloud to do whatever they think is right in their own eyes, but in actuality they are slaves to sin.

They have never forsaken their sins and trusted Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.

Jesus is the only One who gives us true freedom.

It was Jesus who lived a perfect sinless life and went obediently to the cross, shedding His own precious blood for our sins.

The wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. (Romans 6:23)

Sin brings death, but Jesus gives us life when we come to Him by faith.  We must repent of our sins and trust Jesus as our Lord and Savior.

We must come to know Jesus to have true freedom.

Jesus says in John 8:31-32,

"...If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples.  Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free."

Jesus also says in John 8:34-36,

"Jesus replied, "I tell you the truth, everyone who sins is a slave to sin.  Now a slave has no permanent place in the family, but a son belongs to it forever.  So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed."

Allow the Son to set you free and you will be free indeed.

I would like to ask for prayers for my fellow Americans.  I pray that they will receive Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.

I pray that people all around the world will repent of their sins and receive Jesus as their Lord and Savior.

Our world needs a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

He is our only hope.

He is the One who brings us true freedom.

When we come to know Jesus, He sets us free.

What a Savior!

Lord,
Thank You for setting us free through Your finished work on the cross.
Thank You we can now chose to listen to You and not sin.
Help us to do that through the Holy Spirit who indwells every believer in Christ.
Come soon O Lord.
In Jesus name,
Amen.
