Peace is not a word that we hear much. Many people want peace, but they are not sure how to obtain it.
We who are believers in Jesus Christ know that the only way to have true peace is to have a personal relationship with Jesus.
He is our source of peace. He is the only hope that anyone has to have true peace in their hearts.
Jesus invites everyone to come to Him and have their sins forgiven so they can make peace with Him by trusting in Him as their Lord and Savior.
I was thinking about peace today.
I am glad that through Jesus I have peace in my heart even though the world seems to be spinning towards something not good.
I am thankful that one day we all who have put our faith and trust in the Lord Jesus Christ will be with Him in Heaven for all eternity.
We often don't know what tomorrow will bring, but for the Christian being with Jesus forever is a sure thing.
We won't be their because of any good work that we have done. We will be there because we trusted in the finished work that Jesus did on the cross.
He is our hope.
I was also thinking about Matthew 5:9 which says,
"Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called sons of God."
That verse got me thinking about the men and women in Law Enforcement that put their lives on the line each and everyday.
There was a memorial service held today in Dallas for the five officers that were killed in the line of duty.
Their families are heart broken.
The Nation is heart broken as well with all the violence that has been occurring.
May the Lord touch the Officer's families with comfort, healing, and a peace that surpasses all understanding.
May the Lord be with the families of the men who were shot last week involving law enforcement officers.
Our Nation needs peace. Our world needs peace.
Our world needs a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
He is the only way to find true lasting peace.
He is the only way to Heaven. There is no other way.
Let us remember those in the Law Enforcement community and their families in our prayers.
They have an increasingly difficult job to do with little pay.
They see things that people shouldn't have to see.
They see people at their worst sometimes.
They are trained to handle difficult situations, but they are still human beings and it still affects them deeply even if they don't say so or act like it.
I will just close with this message of thanks.
I just want to say thank you to all of those men and women in Law Enforcement and Emergency Services that put their lives on the line everyday to protect us and try to keep the peace.
God Bless you!
Lord,
Thank You for Your peace that comes into our hearts when we come to know Jesus as our Lord and Savior.
We praise Your Name O Lord.
We pray that Your hand will be upon all of those people who are in Law Enforcement and Emergency Services.
I pray that You would put a hedge of protection around them and keep them safe.
In Jesus name,
Amen.
