Great Is The Lord

Even when we are having the worse possible day that we could imagine we know that God is still good.  God is good all of the time.  His ways are higher than our ways and His thoughts are greater than our thoughts.

Sometimes life gets really hard for us.  Jesus tells us that we will have trouble in this world and we know all about trouble.  Trouble eventually finds all of us at some point in our lives.  We like the good times and those wonderful mountain top experiences,  but there will be times when things get rough and tough.

The good news is that we never have to go through life's difficult moments by ourselves.  The Lord will walk us through those long, lonely, dark, and shadowy valleys.  We can trust that He will see us through the most challenging times because we know He is faithful to His Word.

God is also great in all He does.  God is all powerful and He is mighty.  There is nothing that is too difficult for God to handle and there is nothing that surprises God about our circumstances.  We can count on the Lord to be there for us when life gets difficult.

When life is going well for us we need to praise Him and we life gets hard we still need to praise Him and rejoice.  We aren't to rejoice because of our troubles mind you, but we should rejoice in the Lord because of who He is and that we belong to Him.

Psalm 145

I will exalt you, my God the King; I will praise your name for ever and ever.

2 Every day I will praise you and extol your name for ever and ever.

3 Great is the LORD and most worthy of praise; his greatness no one can fathom.

4 One generation commends your works to another; they tell of your mighty acts.

5 They speak of the glorious splendor of your majesty— and I will meditate on your wonderful works.

6 They tell of the power of your awesome works— and I will proclaim your great deeds.

7 They celebrate your abundant goodness and joyfully sing of your righteousness.

8 The LORD is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and rich in love.

9 The LORD is good to all; he has compassion on all he has made.

10 All your works praise you, LORD; your faithful people extol you.

11 They tell of the glory of your kingdom and speak of your might,

12 so that all people may know of your mighty acts and the glorious splendor of your kingdom.

13 Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and your dominion endures through all
generations. The LORD is trustworthy in all he promises and faithful in all he does.

14 The LORD upholds all who fall and lifts up all who are bowed down.

15 The eyes of all look to you, and you give them their food at the proper time.

16 You open your hand and satisfy the desires of every living thing.

17 The LORD is righteous in all his ways and faithful in all he does.

18 The LORD is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth.

19 He fulfills the desires of those who fear him; he hears their cry and saves them.

20 The LORD watches over all who love him, but all the wicked he will destroy.

21 My mouth will speak in praise of the LORD. Let every creature praise his holy name for ever and ever.

When troubles come to us and we know they will in one way or another we must remember who God is.  We do this by reading the Bible and studying the Word to better know who the Lord is.  We need to pray to Him as well and worship Him.  There should be time that we set aside just to be alone with the Lord and seek Him.

The Lord is trustworthy and true to His Word.  He loves us with a deep intimate unconditional love.  May our lips always by full of praise for our Lord for He alone is worthy of all of our praise and worship.

Lord,

You are Great and Awesome.

We praise Your Holy Name.

Thank You Lord for sending Jesus to save us from our sins by dying on the Cross.

Help us to be thankful and rejoice in who You are.

Lead us and guide us.  May Your will be done.

In Jesus name we pray,

Amen.
