Finding Rest In Jesus

Life can be busy and hectic.  We run from one activity to the next.  We sometimes feel stretched in all kinds of different directions.  We may even start to feel spiritually dry if we allow other things to fill up our time instead of making time to spend with the Lord and reading His Word.

Jesus tells us in Matthew 11:28-30,

28 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.

30 For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”

Jesus stands waiting for us to come to Him and be refreshed when we feel dry and weary.  We need to read and study His Word and spend time in His presence just listening and we also need time in prayer.

Times are tough and we need to have our focus on the Lord Jesus.  He is a friend that sticks closer than a brother.  He is an ever present help in our time of need.  

If you are struggling with something and you feel like you are at the end of your rope I would encourage you to turn it over to the Lord Jesus and trust Him with you need.  The Lord stands in front of us with opened arms urging us to come to Him and to trust Him with our lives.

We can find our rest in Jesus.

Lord,

Life can be hard and difficult.

We need rest from our weariness.  

We come to You to find rest.

Help us to read and understand Your Word.

Empower us to live for You through Your Holy Spirit.

Forgive us O Lord when we fail to allow our lights to shine in this dark world.

Lead us and guide us into all truth.

We praise Your name.
