Psalm 23 (NKJV)
2 He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters.
3 He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness For His name's sake.
4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For You are
with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me
5 You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You anoint my head with oil;
My cup runs over.
6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me All the days of my life; And I will dwell in the house of the Lord Forever.
The Psalm was written by David who would be the King of Israel. He was a shepherd of his father's sheep. So, David knew all about taking care of sheep and in this Psalm he relates God to a shepherd and we are His sheep. The Lord takes care of us.
When we put our faith and trust in the Lord we know that He will provide for us all that we need. We may not always get what we want, but he Lord knows what exactly it is that we need even more so than we do at times.
The Lord will help us find the rest we need in Him when we trust Him and walk in His ways. The Lord will restore our tired and weary souls by strengthen us by His Spirit who dwells within everyone who is trusting in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.
The Lord will lead us in paths of righteousness not to bring us praise and glory, but so that He will get the glory and praise. He will lead us where He wants us and He will enable us to accomplish His will for our lives. We just need to trust Him because we know that He is trustworthy.
Even when we walk through life's most difficult deepest darkest valley where all we see is the threat of death and destruction we can find comfort in knowing that the Lord is with us and He will protect us.
The Lord is preparing a table in Heaven where there will be a great feast on that Great Day which will be called the Marriage Supper of the Lamb where all believers who have repented of their sins and have trusted Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior will dine with the Lord.
The Lord will lead us and guide us throughout our lives when we put our faith and trust in Him. He is our protector. He will never leave us and He will never forsake us. He pours out His Spirit into our lives and He blesses us abundantly with more than we can ask for or even think of.
The Lord will work out all things for our good and for His glory and His perfect purpose. If we are trusting in Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior one day we will be taken to Heaven where we will be with the Lord for all eternity. What a great day that will be!
We will be with the Lord forever in Heaven where there will be no more disease, no more sickness, no more tears, no more death, no more hurting, no more depression, no more anxiety or worry. We will find rest with Him and everlasting joy. The Lord is willing to give us a peace in our very hearts that surpasses all understanding if we just come to trust Him by faith.
The Lord wants you to know that you are invited to His table. There is a place set just for you to come and dine with Him. The invitation is open to you. The only thing you have to do is put your faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and trust that He died for your sins. God raised Jesus from the dead the third day to show us that He is indeed God. One Day the Lord Jesus will return and all those who have put their faith and trust in Him will be with Him forever.
The Lord is waiting for you to come to Him.

Lord,
We thank You for Your love and protection.
Thank You for being our shepherd.
Lead us closer to You.
