Reflecting The Son

The picture above is one that I took with my camera of the super moon that occurred the other night.  I look at it and all I can think about is the One who made it.  Sometimes we get used to seeing stars in the night sky or anything else in creation and we fail to be in awe of our Creator God.

The Lord is worthy of our worship and our praise.  Sometimes I thing we get so busy and used to being around creation so much that we fail to really realize how awesome our God is.   When I look at the moon I think it looks beautiful.  Who else besides God could make a dusty old rock look so wonderfully beautiful?  The answer is no one could, but God alone.

When I was looking at the moon another thought occurred to me.  The moon can not produce its own light.   The moon looks shiny in the night sky because it reflects the light of the Sun.   That got me thinking about something.

We as believers in Jesus Christ really can't produce our own light Spiritually speaking.  We must reflect the Son.  That is we must allow Jesus to shine through us and we do that by submitting to the promptings of the Holy Spirit, reading the Bible, praying,  meditating on the Word, and just fellowshipping with the Lord.

There are people all around us that need to know Jesus Christ and the hope that we have in Him.  The Lord loves each person and He wants all people to come to know Him in a relationship.   The only way to have a relationship with God is through Jesus Christ.

God demonstrated His love for us by sending His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ to this earth to die on the Cross for our sins.  We must realize that we have sinned against God and be willing to repent and then trust Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior.   Jesus shed His blood for our sins once and for all.  God raised Jesus from the dead to show that He is indeed the Son of God.   Jesus was taken to Heaven and is at the right hand of God the Father.  One day perhaps very soon Jesus will return.

We who are believers in Jesus Christ have the Holy Spirit that indwells us and He is the one who shines the light of Christ into this dark world.  The light doesn't come from us because of our good deeds or anything like that. We can't take any credit for any good that the Lord does through us.

Let us submit to the Lord and allow Him to shine His light through us in such a way that He draws more people to Himself for His Glory, Honor, and Praise.

As the old song goes, "This little light of mine, I am going to let  it shine."

Lord,
Thank You for another day to be in Your presence.
Shine Your light through us O Lord in greater ways.
Touch each one who needs healing and heal them.
Comfort those who need comforting.
In Jesus name,
Amen.
