Praying For Our Leaders

I have mentioned it before that prayer is important for we who are believers in Christ Jesus.  We like calling out to the Living God and we know that He will answer our prayers in His timing and according to His will.  We are to pray for our family, our friends, our co-workers, and those who are sick.  There are many things and people we can pray about.  It is easy to pray for people we like and agree with, but it is hard when we are called to pray for those we don't necessarily like.

There is a Presidential election coming up in America very soon.  Our Nation is in need of prayer.  We need to pray for our leaders of our Country.  We must pray that the Lord will touch the hearts of our leaders and draw them to Him and that they would do His will.  We must pray that the Holy Spirit would give us discernment when voting this November.

We called to prayer for our Pastors and all believers in Christ Jesus.  We must be bold and courageous and trust that the Lord will lead us and guide us by His Holy Spirit.  We must pray that we will stand firmly upon His Holy Word and be empowered by the Holy Spirit to do His will no matter where that may lead us.  We must stand in the truth of who the Lord is and the hope that we have in Him and in Him alone.  There is still hope for this Nation and there is still hope for this world in which we live.

There is hope in Jesus Christ.  He is the only hope that this world has.  People need a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.  Our leaders need Jesus.  We must pray that they will come to know Jesus and that they will allow Him to lead them as they lead us.

I am reminded of what the Apostle Paul wrote in His letter to Timothy in I Timothy 2:1-6 which says,

"1 I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people—

2 for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness.

3 This is good, and pleases God our Savior,

4 who wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth.

5 For there is one God and one mediator between God and mankind, the man Christ Jesus,

6 who gave himself as a ransom for all people. This has now been witnessed to at the proper time."

There is a lot of anger brewing in our Nation and in our world today.  There is hatred and racism.  There is darkness that seems to be hovering over our land and it is invading our families and our culture.  Morals have been eroding at a rapid pace over the years and it seems that it will only proceed to get worse.  We need to pray.  We need to call out to the Lord our God.  We need to call out to Him that He would open the eyes and hearts of the people of this world to His love and His goodness.  The people of this world need to hear the Gospel of Jesus Christ empowered by the Holy Spirit.

People need Jesus.  There is only One way in to Heaven and there is only One who died for our sins by shedding His blood on the Cross.  Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Life and no one can come to the Father except through Jesus Christ.

Let us keep praying for our leaders.  Let us keep praying for our Pastor and Missionary's.  May we boldly proclaim the Good News of Jesus Christ to those in our families and to those in our communities.

Lord,
We humble ourselves before You O God.
People are hurting all around us and they feel hopeless.
We pray that You would open the eyes of those around us to the hope that we have in Jesus Christ.
Use us Lord to take Your light to those around us.
Lord, we uplift the up coming elections and we pray that You would help us to make the right choice.  We need Your help in doing that Lord.
We pray for our leaders and ask that You would draw them to You and that Your will would be done in and through their lives.
Touch each one that reads these blog postings and encourage them to continue to seek You and trust You in their lives.
Bless us now O Lord.
In Jesus name,
Amen.
