Jesus Is Our Hope

The world can seem so full of darkness and sorrow at times.  We can watch the news on television or on our tablets and really get discouraged by what we see and hear.  The world is upside down it seems.  I heard people talk about how much progress we have made, but I am not sure exactly what they mean truly since things seem to have gotten worse.  I do realize that we have made great advances in technology and in medicine, but the human heart has not changed one bit since the fall of Adam in the Garden of Eden.

Adam sinned against God's command and died spiritually.  He was separated from God and everyone who has been born into this world is born spiritually dead.  That is we are born with a sin nature and separated from God.  Our hearts are full of greed, lust, anger, and other evil things whether we want to admit it or not.  The truth is it is there in each of us and we can't change it on our own no matter how hard we may try.  There are no self help books when it comes to fixing the human heart.

Thankfully God made a way for us to be reconciled back to Him.  God out of His great love for each one of us sent His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ to live a perfect and sinless life.  Jesus went obediently to the Cross and bled and died there for my sins, your sins, and the sins of the whole world.  We must come to Jesus in humility and in repentance of our sins.  That is we must agree with God that our hearts are not right with Him.  We must get right with God and the only way we can do that is accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior.  We must trust in what Jesus did for us on the Cross.  He paid the price for our sins once and for all.  Jesus rose from the dead the third day to show us that His is indeed God and that He conquered death.  Anyone who believes in Jesus Christ will live even though they die.  That means that if we are trusting in Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior when our bodies die our souls we go to Heaven to be with Jesus forever.  Whoever calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.

We have hope in Jesus Christ.  I know things are tough in our world today.  Many people are suffering with many trials and hurts.  Many people have been hurt by other people's actions and words.  Things seem to get crazier everyday.  It is hard to tell who we can trust.  I find it hard to trust people at times.  Sometimes people disappoint us.  Sometimes we get mistreated and ignored.  Sometimes people hurt us and don't even realize it and at other times they know exactly what they are doing.  Life can be tough and really heard, but there is true hope in the Lord our God.  Their is hope found in Jesus Christ.  There is hope that is revealed in God's Holy Word, the Bible.  There is no other Book like the Bible on the earth.  The Bible is the only book that reveals the truth about the true living God and the way of salvation through Jesus Christ.

God wants you to know Him.  God wants you to know that He loves you with an everlasting unconditional love.  He longs for you to be His child and you can by coming to Jesus Christ.  He is our hope.  He is my hope.  Jesus is my Lord and my Savior.  I am not perfect.  I am not even good.  I am forgiven not because of anything I have done, but only because of what Jesus did for me on the Cross.  Jesus died for my sins and for that I am thankful that my name is written in the Lambs Book of Life. 

The world needs to hear the good news of Jesus Christ.  They need to hear that there is hope for them in this life and in the life to come if they just put their faith and trust in Jesus. 

When we accept Christ into our lives the Holy Spirit comes to live within us.  We are never alone in this world when we have the Lord.  He will always be with us and He will never forsake us no matter what we are going through.  Life is hard and challenging and unpredictable as most of us know by now.   We must remember that God is good and He is good all the time.  There is a wonderful Day coming when our faith will become sight and we will see our Lord with our very own eyes.

It is easy to take our eyes off of Jesus and get distracted by the things of this world.  It is easy to become angry and filled with fear.  We get all stressed out about things that may not really matter much in view of eternity.   The Lord knows what lies ahead of us tomorrow.  He will take us through it.  He will help us and lead us no matter what comes our way.  We can trust Him with our today's and our tomorrows.  We can also trust Jesus with our eternity.
