Get Excited About Jesus

I have seen sporting events where people will be cheering on their favorite team and they get so excited when their team scores or even win the game or match.  Many people love sports and all the excitement and they have no problem telling other people how much they love their team or favorite player.

I was recently talking to a man who is in a praise band in his church and he was talking about how excited people get watch sports, but when it comes to worshiping God they just don't seem very excited at all.  When we come to worship God, the One who created everything seen and unseen, shouldn't there be some excitement especially when we think of all He has done for us by sending His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, who died on the Cross so we could obtain forgiveness of our sins and have a place in Heaven for all eternity.

I am not talking about putting on a show or anything like that, but I am just wondering where are hearts are.  Jesus tells us that where our hearts are that is where our treasure is.  I want my heart to be focused on Jesus Christ because He chose to die for a sinner like me.  Jesus is worthy of my praise and yours as well.

Shouldn't we be in awe of God.  Shouldn't we have a great reverence for Him because He is so Awesome and Holy.  I think sometimes we get our priorities all wrong.  We can be pretty selfish at times if we are truly honest.

We must come to realize that it is not about us at all.  It is all about God and all that He has done from the beginning to the very end when Jesus comes back to establish His Kingdom in full completion.

Tomorrow I would encourage you to find a friend or family member and go to Church and worship the Lord and praise Him.  Get excited about Jesus because He is worthy of all of our praise and worship.

Lord,

We thank You for Your goodness and faithfulness.

Help us to get excited because of who You are.

You are Holy and worthy of our praise.

Lead us and guide us by Your Holy Spirit.

In Jesus name we pray,

Amen.
