Doing Our Best For Jesus

There will be times that people will lie to you and mistreat you.  There will be times when people will not be satisfied with the hard work that you do.  I was given a task to do and no one ever offered to help with it so I tried to do it on my own.  I thought I had done a good job, but apparently it wasn't good enough for certain people.  It would seem that I can't seem to please people no matter what I do.

Have you ever felt that way?  Of course you have.  We have always had those people who were too demanding and hard.  I know there are things that need to change in me.  Maybe my attitude needs a lot of work at times and maybe I do need a thicker skin in dealing with criticism.  Maybe I take things just a wee bit too personally and sometimes I allow bitterness to take root.  That is never a good idea.  It is never good to let something fester deep within us because someday it will come out.  We need to deal with bitterness and anger at it's root.

We must forgive those who have wronged us in our eyes and we need to give them to the Lord.  He can handle them better then we can.  When we give them to the Lord we shouldn't be hoping that the Lord would treat them harshly either, but that He would do what is right in His Just Judgment.

We must never allow those bitter feeling to take root and cause us to resent others around us.  Even though sometimes this can be very hard especially when one feels mistreated by certain people for a long time.

There will be times we will feel overlooked as well and looked down upon because of the job we have or because we don't have as much money as everyone else.  The good news is that God doesn't look at us as people look at us.  The Lord loves us with a deep and everlasting love.  Once we come to faith in Christ Jesus for forgiveness of our sins there is nothing that can separate us from His love.

Sometimes we get caught up in trying to please others when we should be pleasing to God.  We can do that by loving Him and loving those around us.  The Lord loves us and we must always remember that no matter how badly others may treat us.  We must do whatever it is that He has called us to do as if we are doing it for Him.

There will be times when we will feel pushed down and we may want walk away from something, but we must not give us.  We must carry on with our focus upon the Lord Jesus Christ.  The Lord is not a harsh task master.  He stands before us with His arms held open wide saying, "Come to Me all you who are weary and heavy burdened and I will give you rest."

When we feel tired and weary we must come to the Lord and find our rest in Him.  The Lord Jesus cares for us.  The Lord will help us through a difficult time if we will just trust Him.

Lord,

Thank You for loving us and caring for us.

Thank You Lord that You appreciate what we do for You.

Help us not to be people pleasers, but help us to do things for You.

Lead us and guide us by Your Holy Spirit.

Amen.
