Love Is Giving

The world in which we find ourselves living in is a desperate need of love.  There seems to be a major drought of love going on and many seem not even to notice that it is what is missing in their lives.  We get so preoccupied with being overly critical, looking down on others, and even mocking people for not doing what we think they should be doing.  In doing those things we neglect in showing the love of Jesus to others.

God showers us with His divine love and does so lavishly.  God demonstrated His great love for all people when He sent His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ to earth on a rescue mission to save us from our sins.  We have all sinned and we all fall short of God's high standards.  We are all very much deserving of being eternally separated from a Holy God and put in a literal hell.

God made a way for us to be reconciled back to Himself by sending Jesus Christ who lived a perfect sinless life and laid down His life by dying on the Cross for our sins.  Jesus took on the punishment that you and I deserve by shedding His blood for us.  Anyone who trust in Jesus Christ and His sacrifice will be saved.

God raised Jesus from the dead on the third day and He is seated at the right hand of the Father in Heaven.  One day Jesus will return to the earth and bring the Kingdom of God to the earth in completion.  The Lord didn't leave us as orphans to fend for ourselves while we wait for His return, but He gives us the Holy Spirit to indwell everyone who has trusted Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.

God showed how much He loves us by sending Jesus Christ to save us.  We believers in Christ need to show love to those that we come in contact with each and everyday.  People need to know that God loves them.  People need to know the Gospel message of Jesus Christ before it is too late for them to respond to it.  There is a Day coming when God will judge the world and only those who have put their faith and trust in Jesus Christ will enter into Heaven to live with the Lord for all eternity.

There is only one way into Heaven and that is through belief in Jesus Christ and what He did on the Cross for you.  Jesus loves you and He does not want you to miss eternal life with Him and I don't want you to miss it either.  Please don't miss out on receiving the greatest gift that anyone can receive.   Jesus is the greatest gift.  He is the only One that can forgive us our sins and grant us entrance into Heaven.

Love the Lord with all of your heart and love your neighbor as yourself.  Tell others about how much God loves them that He sent Jesus for them.  Share His love.  Live in His love.

I am going to end this blog posting with something I wrote for the third Sunday of Advent that was read in my Church today.

Third Sunday of Advent – Love-(December 11, 2016)

This is the third Sunday of Advent and today’s theme is love.  There is a lot of anger and hatred in our world today and the thing that seems to be missing is love.

Many people seem to have forgotten what love is and what it looks like.  We can never truly understand what love is unless we look to God Himself because God is love.

God demonstrated His own love toward us by sending His one and only Son, Jesus Christ, to live a perfect sinless life here on the earth.   Jesus showed how much He loves us by dying on the Cross for our sins.

We are reminded of what the Apostle Paul says about love in I Corinthians which says,

“Love is patient, love is kind, it does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.  It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.  Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with truth.  It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.” (I Corinthians 13:4-7)

We also remember what Jesus told His disciples in John 15:13, “Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends.”
[Prayer]: Lord, Thank You for loving us so much that You sent Jesus Christ to earth to die for our sins.  We are eternally grateful for all that You have done for us in love,  In Jesus name we pray, Amen.
