Singing to the Lord

I like to sing and play guitar.

I also like to sing in the choir at Church.

The old traditional hymns and southern gospel songs are among my favorites.

I like any music that speaks good strong biblical truth and gives glory to God.

I realize that I am not a great singer.    I am not a great guitar player either.   I don't do those things for recognition of myself and talents.   I do them because I want to express the feelings in my heart for the Lord Jesus.

Something great happens when believers in Christ come together and sing praises to Jesus.   He gave us voices so we can express our love for Him in singing.  

We may not think we sound good and maybe we don't.  The point of singing praises to the Lord is expressing our love and adoration for Him.   It's about Jesus.   It is not about us.

Psalm 95:1-3 says," Come, let us sing for joy to the Lord;
Let us shout aloud to the Rock of our salvation.
Let us come before Him with thanksgiving
And extol Him with music and song."

When we come to worship and sing praises to our Lord and King let sing the best we can not to impress others around us, but to express the love and joy in our hearts for our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Lord,
We come to You with love and in our hearts for You.
Help us to sing praises to You to honor you and worship You.
You are mighty and Awesome.
