Gathering With Other Believers

Tomorrow is Sunday and many of us will be gathering in Church buildings to worship the Lord in Spirit and Truth.  God is worthy of all of our worship.  We should take time and gather together with our brothers and sisters in Christ and worship the Lord.  Sometimes we take meeting together for granted I think.  Sometimes we just go through the motions of going to Church without any real thought.  We should prepare our hearts before we even show up on Sunday mornings to worship the Lord and be willing to listen to what the Lord has to say to us through His Word.

There will be something else on people's minds I sure as we gather together.  Our thoughts may go to the tragedy that occurred in Texas last Sunday at a Church where 26 people were gunned down by a very disturbed and angry individual.  I would be lying if I said it wasn't on my mind.  We live in an uncertain world.

There are dangers all around us and many things can and sometimes do go wrong.  That doesn't mean we should cower in fear.  It's alright to be a little nervous and cautious.  Sometimes we all feel anxious over things, but we must remember to whom we belong.  If we are trusting Christ Jesus as our Lord and Savior we can be assured that we will be safe no matter what comes our way.  That doesn't mean we won't ever encounter trouble mind you.  We may indeed have to go through horrible trials, but if we are trusting Jesus as Savior we know that one day we will be with Him in Heaven for all eternity.

We will encounter dangers and troubles on our walk with Jesus.  We may have to endure persecution from a godless unbelieving perverted generation.  We live in troubling times.  We live in a sinful fallen world.  We must not allow ourselves to get discouraged.  We must not let our hearts be troubled or afraid.

We serve a Mighty and Awesome God who will lead us through the darkest valley that we may find ourselves walking through.  God promises us that He will never leave us and He will never forsake us.  When we gather tomorrow let's open our hearts to love the Lord Jesus and tell Him as we worship together and let's love each other as Jesus loves us.

Lord,
We live in troubling times and we are feeling anxious.
Help us to have courage to trust You more.
Thank You for loving us.
Help us to love You more and help us to love each other.
Lead us and guide us by Your Holy Spirit.
In Jesus Name we pray,
