Rest For The Weary

There are times in life when we will feel weary and worn down.  Life can be hard and full of challenges.  Trials and hardships can stress us out.  We need to find rest.  Sometimes we get so busy with living our lives that we forget to take time to rest properly.

We all need time to rest.  When Jesus was on the earth He made time to rest and seek the Father in prayer.  If Jesus felt that rest was so important shouldn't we do the same.  Resting is not being lazy, but it is a time to reenergize ourselves both physically and spiritually. 

This reminds me of what Jesus said in Matthew 11-28-30 which says,

"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened,
and I will give you rest.  Take my yoke
upon you and learn from me,
for I am gentle and humble in heart,
and you will find rest for your souls.
For my yoke is easy and my burden is light."

We need to take time to rest our bodies, but we also need to rest spiritually as well.

We can do that by spending time in God's Word and spending time with Jesus.

We come to the Lord Jesus to find rest in His presence. 

Lord,

Life can get so busy.  Help us to keep our eyes on You.

Give us the rest we need Lord.

We come to You seeking rest for our very souls.

Bless us this day.
