I do struggle at times with anxiety and worry. In the world we live in it is all to easy to find something to worry about. Sometimes our worries can be irrational. Then when we give into those fears we feel embarrassed and ashamed especially if we have a panic episode in front of others.
I am not perfect. I don't pretend to have it all together because I don't. I don't have all the answers to life questions, but I am thankful that I know the One who does. Jesus knows what we go through each and everyday. Jesus knows our fears and our concerns. He knows what scares us and He wants to help us through those times. He wants us to trust Him with our fears no matter what form they may take.
We must remember that Jesus loves us and He will never forsake us and He will never leave us to manage things on our own. We can come to Him with our fears and anxieties and leave them with Him.
Philippians 4:6-8 says,
"6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.
7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
8 Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things."
The Apostle Paul tells us not to be anxious about anything, but in whatever situation that we fins ourselves in we should pray. Sometimes we forget to pray. Sadly there have been times that I have been so filled with fear I have forgotten to pray. We must remember to call out to the Lord for He is able and willing to help us in our need no matter what that need is.
When we call out to the Lord He will give us a peace in our hearts and minds that surpasses all understanding. The Lord is in control and He loves us. Let us not forget that.
We need to change our thinking. Sometimes we get caught up in what some people call, "stinking thinking" which is thinking that drags us down and fills us with worry and fear.
We as believer in Christ Jesus need to think on things that are true, noble, right, pure, lovely, admirable, excellent and praise worthy. We must feed ourselves by reading the Bible and meditating on the truth of God's Word.
Let us keep our eyes upon Jesus our Lord and Savior.
Sometimes we will fall down and stumble. We may even make fools of ourselves in front of our loved ones because we allowed fear to overwhelm us, but take heart for the Lord Jesus loves you and He is full of mercy and grace.
Let us cling to Him when the advisory tries to trip us up or we scare ourselves.
Lord,
Forgive us for giving into our fears at times.
We are not perfect and sometimes we stumble badly.
Thank You for Your forgiveness and Your love for us.
Help us to conquer our fears and trust You more.
Lead us and direct our steps.
