We like it when our lives run smoothly and all is well. We like it when we have our routine. We like the predictability of our lives. Sometimes the Lord will upend our routine to get our attention and shift our focus back on Him. Sometimes our routine gets in the way of God's best for us. The Lord may want to teach us something.
Sometimes we like to think we have everything figured out, but guess what? We don't have things figured out at all. This world is constantly changing. The only one that doesn't change is God Himself. What do we do then when things change unexpectedly in our lives? We trust the Lord.
Proverbs 3:5-6
"5 Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding;
6 in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight."
We instructed to trust in the Lord with all of our hearts. Sometimes saying things and putting them into practice can be really hard especially when our lives seem to be flipped upside down. It can be hard to trust the Lord at times because we don't always see or know what exactly He is up to in our situation. We can know that God is trustworthy and He has our best interest in mind.
Our journey through pain and loss may be long and difficult, but we can know that the Creator of all things is always by our side each step of the way. We can look back over our lives and the lives of man believers before us and we can see how God has been working in each moment of our lives and in the lives of believers in Christ before us.
God is an awesome loving God. The Lord spoke everything into being. He is an ever present help in our time of need. Live will have it's up and down moments. There will be great times of pure joy and there will be times of constant sorrow.
We can count on God to be there with us in the deepest darkest valley because He has promised us in His Word that He will never leave us nor forsake us. Our God is trustworthy.
We can trust Him with whatever happens to us in our lives.
Lord,
We praise Your Name.
We trust You Lord.
Help us to trust You more.
Empower us through Your Holy Spirit and guard our hearts and minds with Your peace.
In Jesus Name we pray,
Amen.
