Jesus tells us in the New Testament that in this world we will indeed have trouble, but He also tells us that we should take heart in knowing that He has overcome the world. Jesus won the victory over sin and death at the Cross on our behalf.
We have all sinned and have missed the mark. We have all sinned and we have all fallen short of God's high standards. The Lord made a way for us when there seemed to be no way. God sent His one and only Son, Jesus Christ, into this world to live a perfect and sinless life. The Lord Jesus went to the Cross and died there for our sins.
It was at the Cross that Jesus shed His blood and took the punishment that you and I so rightly deserve. There is no one of us that is good enough to earn forgiveness of our sins on our own. There is not one of us that is good enough to enter Heaven on our own merit. We have all failed to measure up to God's standards and we still fail to measure up everyday.
Thankfully there is forgiveness through Jesus Christ. We need to repent of our sins and come to faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ and trust in Him as our Lord and Savior to be saved. We are saved by His grace through faith.
When we trust Jesus as our Lord and Savior we are forgiven of our sins and have a place in Heaven waiting for us. The Holy Spirit comes to indwell everyone who has placed their faith in Jesus Christ. The Lord is always with us no matter where we go. He promises us in His Word that He will never leave us nor we He ever forsake us.
God is good and He always keeps His promises. "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness." (I John 1:9)
Lord, Heavenly Father,
Thank You for forgiveness of our sins through the shed blood of Jesus Christ.
Thank You that we are saved by grace through faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ on the Cross.
We praise Your Holy Name.
Grant us a fresh faith and a fresh power of the Holy Spirit in our lives.
Help us to live lives that honor You and bring You glory.
In Jesus Name we pray,
Amen.
