Remembering Jesus When Our Hearts Are Troubled

The world can seem like a rather dark and scary place to live at times.  There seems to be trouble everywhere we look.  Sometimes things can seem bleak and even hopeless.  We believers in Jesus Christ must remind ourselves that no matter how bad things may seem that we have great hope in the Lord Jesus Christ.

Things may not always go the way we would like to see them go and sometimes bad things happen in our lives.  Sometimes our hearts feel troubled and we get overwhelmed by fear and worry.  There will be times when our faith is tested to the very core, but we must press onward toward the goal that has been set before us.  We must continue to run the race that we are in with our focus on the Lord Jesus.  We also know that our enemy, the devil ,will fight against us, but we must resist him and cling to the Lord Jesus each step of the way.

I like what Jesus tells His disciples in John 14:1-6 which says,

1 “Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in Goda; believe also in me.

2 My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you?

3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.

4 You know the way to the place where I am going.”

5 Thomas said to him, “Lord, we don’t know where you are going, so how can we know the way?”

6 Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except
through me.

When our hearts feel troubled by our circumstances and by things that are happening in our world these days we must remember who Jesus is and we also need to remember His wonderful promises.  Jesus is our Lord and Savior and we can trust Him.  Jesus is a friend that sticks closer than a brother.  If everyone we know abandons us we know that Jesus will always be with us if we have placed our faith and trust in Him for salvation.

Jesus also tells us in the passage above that one day He will come and take us home to Heaven where He is preparing a place for us.  What a great hope that we have in Jesus Christ.  The Lord Jesus died on the Cross for our sins and He rose to life on the third day and one day He will return.  One great day all of us who are trusting in the finished work that Jesus accomplished on the Cross on our behalf will be in Heaven to live with the Lord for all eternity.

What a great day that will be!  Our hearts will no longer feel troubled or anxious.  He will wipe away every tear for our eyes.  There will be no more trouble there in Heaven.  We have a great hope in Jesus Christ.  Sometimes we get busy and sidetracked that we forget all that Jesus has accomplished for us and that He is preparing for us.

There is only one way to the Father and there is only one way to obtain forgiveness of our sins and that is through Jesus Christ.  Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Life and He is the only Way to the Father.  There is no other way that we can get forgiveness of our sins and a place in Heaven.

There is only one name under Heaven in which we must be saved by and that is the name of Jesus Christ.  When troubles come to us may we remember that Jesus paid it all for us on the Cross and He is preparing a place for us in Heaven and one day He will take us there where will be with Him forever.

 Lord, Heavenly Father,
Thank You for all that You do for us and all that You have done for us.
Help us to trust You more with our troubled hearts and minds.
We praise Your Holy Name.
I pray for those who feel troubled this very moment and I ask You in the Name of Jesus to touch them with Your comforting touch and help them feel Your peace and joy.
Come Quickly Lord Jesus.
In Jesus Name we pray,
Amen.
